Because I'm a weenie when it comes to vomiting, (the involuntary kind) I haven't taken a Chantix for two days. I tried cutting them in half for a day, but the nausea kept reminding me of the vomiting, which made me want to puke.
I'm jealous of you successful "nonnies", and so disappointed in myself I could just puke. I have a call into my doc, but can't see me taking an antiemetic in addition to all the other pharmaceuticals I ingest to appear 'normal'. Anyway, most of them aren't actual pharmaceuticals, they're supplements. Which don't count right?
It's as if I never slowed down on smoking. If I could ground the tobacco finely enough I'd snort it. I can't get enough nicotine into my system fast enough to scratch the itch. Woke up three times last night to smoke, chewed Mer-boy's dad's head off and spateth it out for coming over and edging the yard, (it was 10p.m. y'all) and, and, and, I don't know 'and' what? 'And' anything, crap.
I have 27 days left for the new house to close, pack our lives in used liquor store boxes, come up with the money to transfer utilities - rent a U-haul, move us, AND pull a nine-year-old's birthday out of my ass. (that's 'and' what)
Maybe, I'm just sayin maybe, this wasn't an optimum time to try Chantix...maybe. Or maybe being the good addict I am, I'll try it tomorrow and it'll be different.

any personal experience with this stop smoking prescription drug Chantix from Pflizer ? I was given a prescription for smoking cessation about 1 year ago, but was afraid to take the new Chantix.

Suppliments count because they can effect medication and cause things like nausea. You should tell your doctor about all of them.
Sometimes people aren't ready to quit smoking. Whenever I had a false start I would examine what I was getting out of the smoking and why I didn't want to let go of it. Then decide if I was really willing to let that go.

When the time is right, the time will be right, with or without Chantix. Only you can say if you are blowing nicotine addict smoke up your own nostrils (thought I'd say ass, didn't you?) or whether this really just isn't the best time. If it is the right time and if there is something the doc can give you to help with the nausea/throwing up, it might be an option. I wouldn't have lasted long on Chantix actually throwing up - that's rugged.
The important thing is to keep wanting to quit and to also keep trying to quit when you feel like you've got enough fight in you that it just might work. I've felt most hopeless the times when I would pretty much give up on the thought of quitting at all because nothing good could come of that. As long as I kept wanting to do it, I knew that I would (again) someday when I was ready to give it another go. Once I found out about Chantix, I had a month to gear up because that was the soonest doctor's appointment (yes, in America, with health insurance, I waited a month - oh, wait, that was a different topic), and then that day of being ready was finally there again, so I'm going for it.
Anyway, whatever you decide about the Chantix or the timing for quitting, hang in there. Sounds like you have a full plate. Do what you know is best for you. Just my $0.02.
